Christmas Tree Asparagus Tart

Ingredients
INSTRUCTIONS
-
1Preheat oven to 400o F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
-
2Unfold the puff pastry and slightly roll out the dough to get rid of the seams. Transfer the puff pastry dough to the lined baking sheet.
-
3Use a knife to make a slight indent in the dough to make frame around the outside of the puff pastry about 1/2 inch in size. Spread the Boursin cheese over the inside of the frame of the puff pastry, a fork works well for this. Sprinkle the shredded Gruyere on the Boursin cheese.
-
4Trim the ends of the Asparagus by 1 inch to get rid of the woody stalk.
-
5Drizzle the asparagus in 1 teaspoon of the olive oil so it is lightly oiled. Line the asparagus on top of the cheese in a Christmas tree pattern, starting with two long asparagus as the trunk and then cutting the asparagus to size to make all the branches going down.
-
6Transfer to the oven and bake for 20 minutes until the pastry dough has puffed and the asparagus is roasted and cooked through. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper before serving.
